Scott Loring Sanders

As a lecturer at Lesley University since 2015, Scott brings a strong creative writing background to his students in both fiction and creative nonfiction.  He teaches Intro to Creative Writing, Art and Craft of Creative Nonfiction, Art and Craft of Short Fiction, and Advanced Short Fiction.  His specialties include Mystery Writing and Writing the Personal Essay.  As a teacher, he brings his own personal writing experiences into the classroom, sharing what he’s learned over the years to aid in the advancement of his own students’ writing.  More than anything, his main goal is for students to enjoy the process and have some fun while learning the difficult task of writing creatively.

Scott has been the Writer in Residence at the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France, twice a resident at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and a fellow at the Edward F. Albee Foundation in Montauk, NY.  He holds an MFA from Hollins University and a BA from Virginia Tech.
