The Community Engagement Summer Fellows Program runs from Thursday, July 7-Friday, August 19. The program provides Lesley undergraduate students who are federal work-study eligible with a paid part-time job opportunity (about 17 hours per week) to engage in meaningful community engagement. Student fellows work directly with local youth through Cambridge Housing Authority's Summer College Immersion Program & Summer Learning Literacy Program. Additionally, participants will also explore social change strategies, cultivate relationships with one another and the local community, plan and implement social justice action projects, and build professional experience and skills. The community engagement work will take place in person in Cambridge. Weekly cohort meetings will take place remotely.
If you are interested in learning more about the program, come chat with USI student and former summer fellow Jackie Mendoza-Lozano, and Jamie Kherbaoui, coordinator of Community Service, at our virtual information session. Drop in any time on Wednesday, April 13 between 5-6 pm. Email jkherbao@lesley.edu to RSVP.
