Systemic Support: What Would a Childcare System Look Like?

What does it mean to build a sustainable support system for young children and families?

Early childhood educators are often a first line of support for parenting, a wide range of family needs, and foundational access to early education and care that drives brain development, education success, financial security and economic mobility.

In this session, we will explore the dynamics of a functioning, supportive childcare system and all that entails, from family navigation to operations infrastructure to teacher support.

  • Learn about an evolving childcare system in the Boston area.
  • Consider what elements you would like to see in a supportive childcare system.
  • Examine children and families through a strengths-based lens.
  • Consider your own roles and relationships and how they contribute to systems that can continue to uplift and celebrate children – in the present moment and as future citizens.

In collaboration with Neighborhood Villages.
