At a time when gun violence is consistently in the news and contributing to stress and anxiety for so many people -- including children, caregivers, and teachers -- this virtual panel provides several experts with an opportunity to share their respective work, respond to and reflect upon each other’s ideas, and engage with the audience (university community members and beyond).
This particular group of panelists has been selected because of the resonance with many programs at Lesley University and a university mission anchored in social justice and civic engagement. We will focus on: 1) the current national and global landscape based on data/evidence; 2) efforts to increase advocacy and activism to affect legislation and practice in the interest of safety; and 3) ways to address trauma with children using art as both a process and point of reflection.
