On Saturday, May 11 the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) hosted the first ever Undocumented & Students of Color Graduation at Lesley. The event was not only for the class of 2019 graduates but also a time to celebrate their families, loved ones and supporters.

Twenty-eight students took part in this ceremony and were joined by more than 120 supporters and about 20 Lesley staff and faculty members. The graduation began with Assistant Dean of Student Life and Director of Student Activities Felecia Bumpus introducing the event's co-chairs Diana Restrepo and Rianne Elsadig, who both took part in the graduation. Graduate Vita Frajul gave the keynote address after which the students received a stole to wear at commencement.
On behalf of USG, Student Body President Jose Mendoza recognized the two co-chairs and awarded them with the first-ever USG Impact Award, which "recognizes a student who significantly contributed to improving the quality of student life through exemplary service, commitment and strong leadership to advancing Lesley University through executing a philanthropy or community project that has a major impact in the community."

The graduation ended with a closing address by Emmanuel (Manny) Martinez, followed by a reception.
