The Maine Scholars program gives students prioritization by Maine employers as well as opportunities for financial aid and scholarship benefits.

History of Commonthought

First published in 1989 under the title, The Open Door, the magazine became Womanthought in 1990, then Commonthought in 1993. Faculty editors have included Dr. Anne Elezabeth Pluto, Jennifer Flescher, and E. Christopher Clark.

Associated Course

  • CCRWT 2430 - Magazine Production

    In CCRWT 2430, students will workshop and edit creative work: fiction, poetry, scripts, essays, of their own, as well as the submissions for Commonthought. Students will develop a supportive critical approach in the workshop atmosphere, sharpen their editing skills, learn layout, choose artwork, and assume leadership/editorial roles for the publication of Commonthought.
