Lesley Announces Maine Scholars Program
The Maine Scholars program gives students prioritization by Maine employers as well as opportunities for financial aid and scholarship benefits.

Lesley Website Support

Our website, lesley.edu, is the university’s biggest marketing tool, with 1.2 million visitors each year. Lesley’s Marketing and Communications team manages and maintains the university’s website with assistance from web editors from departments across the university.

The Marketing & Communications Team:

  • Provides training for web editors on how to use our website’s Content Management System, write for the web, and uphold web accessibility standards
  • Maintains Lesley's Editorial Style Guide (PDF)
  • Ensures that our website is optimized for online search
  • Oversees web governance
  • Reviews and publishes submitted web content
  • Posts all admissions- and recruitment-related events, such as open houses
  • Works with our Drupal developer in IT, and with outside developers, to improve our website's functionality
  • Creates compelling content to increase website traffic and awareness of Lesley University
  • Provides website photography and video assets

Requesting Website Support

If your department has a web editor, work directly with them to update or create content for the Lesley website. If your department does not have a web editor, submit an online web request form (http://marcomm.lesley.edu/support/tickets/new) or email webrequests@lesley.edu and a member of the Information Technology team will work on your request. It takes 3 to 5 business days to complete simple web requests and longer for more complicated requests.

What Our Web Editors Do

  • Monitor their department’s web pages for accuracy and readability
  • Update web pages
  • Add non-admissions events to the calendar (https://lesley.edu/events/all)
  • Uphold Lesley’s brand standards, editorial style, and web accessibility guidelines
  • Work with Marketing & Communications to launch new academic program pages
  • Write stories and create web content about the good work faculty, students, alumni, and staff are doing
  • Important: Web editors must not share their Drupal log in with anyone. Individuals who have not been trained by Marketing & Communications must never borrow a login and make changes to the Lesley website.

If Your Department Has a Web Editor

  1. Ask your department’s web editor to make the web change. Web editors can also add non-admissions event pages to our online events calendar.
  2. The web editor creates or updates the content, then submits it to Marketing & Communications for review.
  3. The Marketing & Communications Department approves and publishes web updates and new event pages that web editors submit. This takes 2 to 3 business days.

If Your Department Does Not Have a Web Editor

Please do not email web requests to the Marketing & Communications staff. Using the web request form makes it possible for us to assign tasks appropriately and ensure that we complete your request as fast as possible.

Non-Event Pages

  1. Fill out our online Web Request Form (http://marcomm.lesley.edu/support/tickets/new) or email webrequests@lesley.edu
  2. Include the URL of the page you need help with, if applicable.
  3. Include any details we’ll need to complete the request successfully.
  4. If you have substantial edits to the content, copy and paste the text into Word, turn on “track changes” and make your edits so we can easily see what needs to be changed. (Upload this document into the request.)
  5. It takes 3 to 5 business days for us to complete simple web requests and longer for more complicated requests.

Event Pages

Fill out the Submit an Event Form (https://lesley.edu/submit-event) to:

  • Get an event added to the Lesley events calendar. (Only non-admissions events. Marketing & Communications posts admissions events, such as open houses and info sessions.)
  • Request photo coverage of an event.
  • Request social media promotion of an event.

There are web-related tasks that web editors will need help from Marketing and Communications to do, such as:

  • Archiving pages that are no longer needed
  • Taking pages out of archive
